Hello all – it’s been a bit of a quiet month here because we went on a CRUISE!! It was our babymoon before baby #2 comes. We left Ain behind with Grandparents, so it was a nice, relaxing, connecting time with the hubby! I would not do it pregnant again though – my ankles and hands were swollen so bad they were uncomfortable and I couldn’t spend that much time walking around in the heat of Mexico, Grand Cayman Island, and Jamaica. We did have incredible views, though and I LOVED eating all the time!! And we had a room with a balcony!!
Last time I updated you on this pregnancy was when I was 20 weeks along. I haven’t been taking bump pictures at much this pregnancy. I’ve just taken pictures at 14 weeks, 17 weeks, 20 weeks, 21 weeks, and 24 weeks so far.
Week 24
How I feel – Pretty good, pretty normal. There have been a couple of times this week I’ve needed a nap (but I think it was just because I went to bed late). The round ligament pain is still not that bad – I just have to be careful when I stand up after sitting awhile.
Waddling? – Still not waddling…
Total weight gain/loss? – I gained 6 pounds on the cruise. But, I’m only up 11.5 pounds overall. Last pregnancy I had gained 14 pounds by this time. My bump seems to be about the same for last pregnancy and this pregnancy at this point.
Sleep – Thankfully, I’ve been sleeping pretty well most nights. I’m enjoying this break in pregnancy insomnia while I can! I’m sure towards the end of the pregnancy I’ll have more trouble sleeping.
Cravings – For some reason this second trimester I haven’t been really that hungry in the mornings. Maybe part of it is that Ain eats so much for breakfast and keeps me busy feeding him. Besides that, I think my appetite is pretty normal the rest of the day. I don’t have a lot of cravings (other than sugar in the evenings – maybe I need to eat more real food then).
Movement – YES!! Matt felt the baby kick for the time while on the cruise – at 21 weeks! The baby moves pretty regularly now and I love it!
Best moment recently – Finding out the sex of the baby!! We had our sonogram the day before we went on the cruise, told it to family and then kept it from everyone else until we came back from the cruise! We took a video to announce the gender:
We had to make it funny/a play on what happened last pregnancy. You know, we thought for 5 months it was going to be a girl and then it was a boy!
Baby Bump
At this point, our little baby is about the size of an eggplant: 12 inches long and weighs a little over a pound. Here are my bumps at 24 weeks. On the left – last pregnancy. On the right – this pregnancy!
